Eid al-Adha — The Day of Sacrifice
The greatest of days — the Festival of Sacrifice and the Days of Tashriq
Eid al-Adha is the Day of Sacrifice, the 10th of Dhul-Hijja, the greatest of days before Allah. The Prophet ﷺ said: "The greatest of days before Allah is the Day of Sacrifice, then the Day of Settling." (Abu Dawud). The day is marked by takbir, Eid prayer, and the sacrifice that revives the Sunnah of Ibrahim ﷺ. The three Days of Tashriq follow — days of eating, drinking, and remembering Allah.
