Jam' al-Qira'at al-'Ashr

Jamʿ al-Qirāʾāt al-ʿAshr is not a separate qirāʾa in its own right; it is a method of recitation in which the qāriʾ gathers the ten canonical readings, reciting each passage in all of its transmitted ways before moving on — the practice of ijāza recitation circles. This is why jamʿ recitations run far longer than the usual murattal.
